Despite an Eastern Conference-leading 30-11 record, the Cleveland Cavaliers have fired coach David Blatt after only a season and a half at the helm, Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
The LeBron James-led Cavs were blown out by the defending champion Golden State Warriors 132-98 earlier this week in an NBA Finals rematch.
Wojnarowski also reports that Cavs assistant Tyrone Lue has agreed to a multi-year deal to take over as Cleveland’s head coach. Blatt was 83-40 as Cavs coach and guided them to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Warriors in six games, last season.
