Edward Kizza officially is a member of the New England Revolution, and he can't wait to get started.

The Revs selected the University of Pittsburgh forward with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft in January. New England signed Kizza to the club Friday, prompting the 22-year-old to celebrate on Twitter.

"I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates and coaches that have helped me throughout my journey!!" Kizza wrote. "Big thanks to the #NERevs for giving me this opportunity to be part of this wonderful club. To the fans, I cant wait to share great moments with you!!"

Kizza should bring plenty of excitement to the Revs in 2021 and beyond. The Uganda native scored 31 goals over three seasons at Pitt and was a two-time All-ACC First-Team selection.

Revs reveal 2021 preseason schedule

Head coach Bruce Arena's club is looking to build off a strong 2020 campaign in which it reached the Conference Finals of the MLS Cup Playoffs before falling to Columbus Crew SC. The Revs ranked 20th in MLS in goals scored last season, though, so they may look to Kizza to add a scoring punch.

New England will begin its 2021 preseason campaign March 27 with an exhibition against the Galaxy in Los Angeles.
