Kevan Miller's arrival gets Bruins to near full squad

WILMINGTON, Mass – The Bruins are nearly at full strength to end this week’s captain’s practices after defenseman Kevan Miller showed up on Friday at Ristuccia Arena to work out with the rest of the Black and Gold. The rugged, physical Miller was working out in California with a number of NHL guys and is coming back from shoulder surgery that ended last season prematurely for him.

That leaves David Krejci as the only prominent member of the Bruins still not in Boston, along with veteran netminder Jonas Gustavsson coming to camp on a PTO.

Otherwise, it was a full group along with unsigned free agent Lee Stempniak also skating with the Bruins for the fourth time in five days this week. The Bruins rookies begin practice in Buffalo on Friday in anticipation of this weekend’s rookie tournament games with the Sabres and Devils rookies, and main training camp will begin at the end of next week.

The Bruins announced on Friday that the Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 training camp sessions starting at 10 a.m. at TD Garden will be free and open to the public and any camp sessions scheduled for the Ristuccia Arena practice home of the Bruins will also be free and open to the public.
