Revolution forward Saer Sene underwent surgery on his injured left ankle earlier today. He will miss the remainder of the 2013 season and is expected to need four to six months to rehabilitate.
Dr. George Theodore performed the left fibula and ankle syndesmosis repair at Mass General West in Waltham. Sene, 26, underwent the surgery to repair his broken left fibula and stabilize the left ankle dislocation he suffered in Montreal on Saturday.
Sene has appeared in 24 matches this season and has scored five goals and added five assists.
The injury is Sene's second season-ending issue in the last two seasons. He suffered a left knee injury and underwent ACL repair surgery in the summer of 2012.
