The New England Revolution open the MLS Playoffs Saturday at 8 p.m. at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro with the first leg of their Eastern Conference Semifinals against Sporting Kansas City.
Sporting K.C was the No. 2 seed in the East (17-10-7, 58 points); The Revs were the No. 3 seed (14-11-9, 51 points). You can watch the game on Comcast SportsNet.
The second leg is Wednesday at 9 p.m. Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.
The Eastern Conference Semifinal is a two-game, aggregate-goals series. The team with the most goals scored after two games will advance to the Eastern Conference Championship series. If the two teams are tied with the same number of goals after two games, the teams will play a 30-minute extra-time period. If the teams’ goal totals are still tied after the extra 30 minutes, penalty kicks will be used to determine which team advances.
