Report: Patriots add former Falcons OL Gunn

The Patriots appear to have added a little bit of depth to their offensive line.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the team claimed guard Harland Gunn off of waivers. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound 25-year-old is a former member of the Falcons who played in 13 games for Atlanta over the course of the last two seasons. Gunn entered the league as an undrafted rookie out of the University of Miami in 2012.

The Patriots could use another healthy body in their offensive line group. It looked as though tackle Kevin Hughes left Saturday's practice early due to injury. This weekend, both Chris Barker and Jordan Devey, who have played on the interior in the past, saw some reps at tackle.

One more reason that some depth up front could be beneficial? Established veteran right tackle Sebastian Vollmer has been limited in practices as he recovers from offseason surgery limiting the overall number of healthy bodies on the line during certain practice periods.

When Hughes is officially added to the roster, the Patriots will have 88 players listed, leaving them with two open spots on the 90-man active roster.
