Report: NFL, NFLPA discussing Brady settlement

It appears as though the settlement talks concerning Tom Brady's four-game suspension are now a two-way street.

Last week it was reported that talks had been broached by the NFLPA but were ignored by the league. On Monday, Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1 reported that the union and the league "have had an open line of communication" regarding a settlement of Brady's suspension.

Garafolo also reported that Brady has become frustrated with the amount of time it has taken NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to make a ruling on Brady's appeal, which Goodell heard in New York back on June 23.

Patriots training camp practices will begin on Thursday but it's still unclear as to whether or not a ruling from Goodell -- or a settlement agreed upon by both sides -- will be announced before then. According to Garafolo, the two sides may still be stuck on the fact that Brady does not want to serve a suspension of any length and would only accept a fine as punishment for his alleged role in Deflategate.
