Curran: McNair comments prove Goodell sales job

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair says it wasn't the NFL that escalated the Deflategate saga to what we see today, but it was Tom Brady and the New England Patriots who didn't cooperate fully.

"What escalated the whole thing is that Brady and the Patriots were going to cooperate fully, and then when it came down to it, they didn't," said McNair.

Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran says NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needed to make sure it's owners had the notion that the New England Patriots and it's quarterback are evil before going after one of the league's best players.

He has a different view of why Deflategate is where it is.

"Non-cooperation existed because the Patriots were wise to what the NFL was up to," said Curran. "They ran a sting, they had a presumption of guilt and they proceeded from there."
