Rob Gronkowski has returned to the Patriots practice field, but what can the team expect from the recovering tight end?
Albert Breer joined Sports Sunday to discuss expectations for Gronk this season.
"Adrian Peterson ruined this for everybody," said Breer. "Generally the timetable is, you come back and play a year, you're not what you were. Then in year two you're okay… I think we're going to have to give this some time. That doesn't mean by the playoffs he won't be okay, but right away I don't think we can expect the exact same player."
Even if Gronk isn't 100%, Breer believes the tight end can make a difference.
"Just having him out there helps," said Breer. "If you look at the rest of their offense, who keeps defensive coordinators awake at night?… Just having him out there, whether or not he's full speed, the defensive coordinator still has to account for that. That's going to make Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Stevan Ridley and the rest of them more effective."
