Goodell invites Brady to be honored at Super Bowl 50

When Patriots players gathered for the start of voluntary workouts last week, they did so with one long-term goal in mind: to play in the final game of the season and win it.

Whether the team gets to Super Bowl 50 or not, Tom Brady has already been invited.

As one of 43 former Super Bowl MVPs, Brady recently received a letter from commissioner Roger Goodell that laid out a plan to honor him as one of a group of the most important people in Super Bowl history.

"The 2015 season culminates in Super Bowl 50," the note reads. "To commemorate this milestone, we are launching a year-long celebration of the first 49 Super Bowls that will conclude with this year's game in San Francisco next February. As part of this celebration, we will honor your important place in Super Bowl History."

What an honor... Hope I have my helmet on for the on-field ceremony in SF! #teameffort

Of course Brady hopes to be in uniform during the ceremony for former MVPs that will take place prior to kickoff of the Super Bowl, which this year will take place in San Francisco, just a 30-minute drive from his hometown of San Mateo.
