Wednesday's lineups: Red Sox vs. Braves

Share

The Red Sox and Braves are back at it again but this time in Boston as they wrapped up two games in Atlanta and will now play two more in Boston.

David Price got the best of the Braves Tuesday night, tying a career-high with 14 strikeouts.

He isn’t the only one mowing down batters with the Sox these days. In fact Red Sox pitchers lead the majors with 10.44 strikeouts per 9.0 innings...According to Elias, Boston’s 210 strikeouts are the most for any major league team through 20 games since 1900 (previous: CLE, 198 SO through 20 games in 2015).

The offense continues to rake as well.

In 7 games since being 1-hit by the Rays on Apr. 19, the Red Sox lead the majors in AVG (.320), hits (86), and doubles (27) and pace the AL in OBP (.374), SLG (.506), runs (43), and triples (4)...Boston’s .320 AVG since Apr. 20 is 43 points higher than the AL’s 2nd-best mark in that span (OAK-.277).

They hope to continue that success at the plate Wednesday night with righty Bud Norris on the mound for the Braves. Meanwhile, Red Sox knuckleballer Steven Wright takes the hill for the Sox.
