Left-handed reliever Andrew Miller is the Red Sox' most sought-after asset in potential trades as the July 31 deadline approaches, according to Peter Gammons.
The lanky, 6-foot-7 Miller, 29, could be a valuable bullpen addition to a contender. He struck out both batters he faced Friday night in a 5-4 victory over the Royals at Fenway Park to run his streak of scoreless outings to nine. The lefty specialist has a 2.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 60 strikeouts and 12 walks in 37 innings this season.
The Atlanta Braves were said to be interested in Miller earlier this week. He could likely fetch a fairly decent prospect or two in a deal.
