Jonas Jerebko talked with Brian Scalabrine about his decision to stay in Sweden after high school instead of going to college, and how he achieved his goal of playing in the NBA.
Jerebko tells Scalabrine that he signed a letter of intent to go to school at Buffalo, but then he got offered to play professionally in Sweden.
“And then a call from the Swedish championship team came in and they offered me a good contract,” said Jerebko. “They said, ‘here’s an apartment, here’s a car, here’s a salary. You can work out twice a day and you have another year on the contract if you want it.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like going to school right now. I’m gonna play ball.’”
