Former Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light, a three-time Super Bowl champion with New England, is pulling for former teammate Wes Welker to get his first Super Bowl ring.

"I would love for Welker to get a ring," Light told Michael Felger and Tony Massarotti on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger & Mazz from the Super Bowl, where Welker's Broncos will face the Seahawks on Sunday. "It's not an easy place to play in New England. . . We'll always have that bond."

Light isn't ruling out Seattle in the big game. In fact, he's got some favorites playing for the Seahawks.

"Look, I've got no horse in the race," he said. "I'd love to tell you that both of them should lose. But a guy like {Seahawks quarterback] Russell Wilson. I like the way he comes across. I really like what he represents. So, Welker a ring? sure, but I'd be surprised if Seattle and this defense of theres and what they do offensively doesn't shine."

Light, who retired after the Patriots last Super Bowl appearance, the loss to the Giants in Indianapolis two years ago, said unlike others, it wasn't that difficult for him to walk away from the game.

"I didn't grow up a football fan. I became a fan because of my experiences playing football," he said. "I've got like four billion hobbies. I like being outdoors. I like running businesses. So, if we're going to play in the real world, we'd better get out there."
