Haggerty's Morning Skate: Toews backs Kane

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, with a long, beautiful Labor Day weekend in the front view.

*Jonathan Toews finally spoke about the Patrick Kane situation in an interview with Winnipeg radio on Thursday, and Pro Hockey Talk has the details. Unsurprisingly, he gave support to his longtime Chicago teammate.

*There are still many free agent bargains available while looking for NHL teams as NHL training camp sits about two weeks away.

*Slava Voynov is now in the hands of immigration and I can’t think of a better place for him to be given his behavior off the ice. We don’t need people like that in the NHL.

*Spector tries to quell the rumor bloggers that have dreamed up sending Chris Kelly or Dennis Seidenberg to Winnipeg in exchange for Dustin Byfuglien. As Spec notes “that ain’t happening, folks.” Start with a couple of first round picks and a prospect, and work up or down from there.

*Mark McGwire calls hockey players the best athletes in the world and I’m inclined to agree. We certainly know it’s not baseball players, who might be the most specialized athletes in the world.

*For something completely different: apparently Hulk is making a disappearing act for the next few Marvel Universe movies.

*For something completely different part II: Happy Force Friday everybody, although the twerking Stormtroopers might have been a bit much.
