Friday, Sept. 23: Flyers prospect bulks up

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while heartily congratulating the boys at Toucher and Rich for their Marconi Award.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Tim Panaccio has Flyers prospect Travis Konecny looking to crack the NHL roster after putting on some weight in the offseason. For curious Bruins fans, Konecny is one of the players sitting there in the first round when the Bruins selected Zach Senyshyn a couple of years ago with the 15th overall pick.

*Bruce Arthur marvels at the “intoxicating illusion” of Team North America at the World Cup of Hockey, and says they’ll be missed

*Milan Lucic is bringing a new attitude and a new toughness to the Edmonton Oilers, and is ready to show that in training camp.

*Alain Vigneault thinks he’s got a strong team with the New York Rangers this season, and time will tell if that’s true.

*Here are six things we learned during the World Cup of Hockey preliminary play because we can’t get enough of lists.

*FOH and PHT writer Mike Halford has a defiant USA Hockey manager Dean Lombardi doubling down on the roster he built that crapped the bed in the tournament.

*For something completely different: great to see Jacoby Brissett and Bill Belichick playing give-and-go with the game ball from last night’s one-sided Patriots win.
