BOSTON - The Red Sox are set for the second game of their double-header with the Orioles, with a few tweaks to the lineup.
First of all, David Ortiz is back in the lineup DHing and batting fourth - as expected. Ortiz missed the first game traveling back from the Dominican Republic to see his daughter's graduation.
The trip had been planned for a while, and Ortiz would have missed Friday's game had it not been rained out according to John Farrell.
Other changes: Xander Bogaerts is sitting out the second game after going 0-for-3 with 3 strikeouts earlier on Saturday. Bogaerts is marred in a 2-for-50 slump right now. Brock Holt takes over at third base (and still leads off), having previously played left field earlier in the day.
A.J. Pierzynski will play catcher and bat eighth after DHing in the first game, and Mookie Betts gets the start in center field batting ninth, replacing Jackie Bradley, Jr.
Daniel Nava moves from left field to right field and stays at the No. 2 spot in the order while Dustin Pedroia once again bats third. Mike Napoli bumps down a spot to 5th with Ortiz back, Stephen Drew hits 6th, and Jonny Gomes gets the start in left field batting 7th.
It's John Lackey (95, 3.52 ERA) on the hill for the Sox up against Ubaldo Jimenez (3-8, 4.31 ERA).
There are a couple changes for the Orioles, as Manny Machado will play third base tonight. Chris Davis will back over to first base and Steve Pearce will DH. Nick Hundley will catch for the Orioles, replacing Caleb Joseph.
