BOSTON - At this point, it's harder to find somebody who hasn't poured a bucket of ice water over his or her head than somebody who has.
The challenge that has swept the nation in hopes of raising money and awareness to find a cure for ALS - known as Lou Gehrig's Disease - has found its way to Boston's biggest and baddest hitter, David Ortiz.
Former Red Sox outfielder and dirt dog Trot Nixon nominated Ortiz for the Ice Bucket Challenge, and on Saturday Ortiz accepted that challenge.
Take a look:
Of course, the ice water didn't cool Ortiz off at the plate. Quite the opposite, actually.
Ortiz cracked two two-run home runs in Saturday night's game against the Astros, his 400th and 401st home runs of his Red Sox career.
Jon Lester and Jonny Gomes, you're up!
