CHICAGO -- Right-hander Daniel Bard continues to struggle in his quest to regain the form that once made him one of the major league’s top set-up men. In 13 games, spanning 12 2/3 innings with Double-A Portland, he has posted a record of 0-1 with a 6.39 ERA. He has allowed 13 hits and 17 walks with six strikeouts in that span, throwing eight wild pitches.

Bard has not pitched in a game since May 15. And for now, there is no timetable for him to get into a game.
“He’s back to throwing bullpens right now,” manager John Farrell said.
“Once there’s some repetition to the bullpens, [he’ll get into a game].”
Bard is still on the Sea Dogs’ active roster.
