Buchholz can make fans forget about long layoff

Clay Buchholz didn't mess around in his first game back in essentially three months.

He pitched 5.0 innings, giving up just three hits and a walk while striking out six Rays.

Mike Felger, Gary Tanguay, and Kirk Minihane discuss the his latest performance.

Felger says that if he pitches this way from this point forward, all will be forgotten in terms of the time he missed.

"If you had somehow fallen off the face of the earth the last three months and just tuned in and watched tonight, you'd just say 'Oh, this is the same guy. Nothing has changed. This is the guy we saw with an ERA of sub-two.' He looked great tonight. He didn't look great in the minor league starts, I don't know if he was working stuff out, but he looked like Clay Buchholz tonight. No question."

Does this mean that Buchholz - assuming he keeps this up - is your Game 1 starter? The guys aren't ready to say that for sure just yet, as Jon Lester has pitched well as of late too.

Felger wonders if Buchholz was right all along to wait out until he felt he was as close to 100-percent as possible.

And finally, the guys discuss how suddenly the Red Sox have a very deep postseason rotation.
