The Patriots have to trim their roster down to 75 players by Tuesday at 4:00PM, and then again down to 53 players before the regular season begins.

So, who are the odd men out?

There are a few names that may come as a surprise.

How about Adrian Wilson, the veteran safety that signed a three-year deal with the Patriots over the offseason?

Wilson played deep into the Patriots' blowout loss to the Lions last week, a sign that he may be fighting for a spot on the roster.

The Boston Globe's Ben Volin isn't exactly surprised, as he saw some signs of it in camp.

"You have to wonder how much tread he has on his tires. He's in his 13th NFL season now. Kind of reminds me of John Lynch a little bit back in 2008. They signed him, everybody thought he would be a veteran presence in the defensive backfield and it turned out he didn't have much left. Adrian Wilson has been a locker room guy and really good for the young players, but one of my favorite sayings is, 'When the roster competition is even, the vets are leaving'. You're always going to tend towards the younger guys, the cheaper guys. And you have to wonder if Adrian Wilson still has a spot on this team."

The guys discuss other potential Patriots cuts such as Leon Washington, who was brought in to sure up the kick return game, Ras-I Dowling, and Jermaine Cunningham.
