When the Patriots take the field Monday night vs. the Panthers, they will be without kick returner/running back Leon Washington - again.

On Sunday night, the team officially downgraded him to out. He's dealing with an ankle injury.

It's been a lost season for Washington up to this point, as he has played in just two games for the Patriots - Sept. 12 vs. Jets and Oct. 6 vs. Bengals.

Going into this season, Washington had played six full seasons out of seven - three each with the Seahawks and Jets. He played seven games in 2009 with the Jets.

Alfonzo Dennard (knee) and Steve Gregory (finger) have also been ruled out for the game.
