When will Rob Gronkowski return, nobody seems to know.
Gronkowski, who hasn’t played in a game yet this season, has caught some attention by being on the practice field all week, but not being on the field on Sundays.
Michael Holley, Michael Felger, and Paul Perillo sat down on Sports Tonight to discuss the ongoing Gronkowski saga.
“I can understand where Rob is coming from here, twice [he] came back and [he] ended up having surgery as a result of coming back,” Perillo said. “Maybe he would have had to have it anyways. I can certainly understand why a young guy would be looking at his entire career instead of just the here and now.”
At the beginning of the season, the Patriots took Gronkowski off the physically unable to perform list, making him eligible to come back before week six.
“I think it’s pretty clear that the Patriots thought that he would be back before now,” Perillo said. “Now, I think Gronkowski is a talented enough player that even if I thought I could get him back for week six, which this is, instead of having to wait six full weeks I would have done what they did. I think he is that valuable. I don’t buy the whole practice thing. I have seen many guys that started the season on PUP, come off in week seven, they’re in the lineup.”
