The Patriots are gearing up for the start of training camp, but there are a handful of players that just aren't ready to take part in it yet.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun and Fox Sports, the Patriots have placed Rob Gronkowski, Jake Ballard, Julian Edelman, and Nick McDonald on the preseason physically unable to perform list.

They've also placed Mark Harrison, Kanorris Davis, and Matt Stankiewitch on the preseason non-football injury list and Armond Armstead on the preseason non-football illness list.

All of these players are eligible to come off their respected lists at any time during training camp. Once a player practices with the team on the field in camp, they are off the list and can no longer go back on it until the regular season begins.

If a player remains on the list at the start of the regular season, he must go on the regular season PUP list and stay on it throughout the first six weeks of the season before being eligible to play in a game.
