FOXBORO -- Tommy Kelly was not on the field for the start of Thursday's practice at Gillette Stadium.
The defensive tackle injured his right knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bengals. He returned to play after coming out briefly and told media members after the game he would be "all right." He did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Stevan Ridley (knee) was back out on the field for the second straight day at the shorts and shells session. Also in attendance were Danny Amendola (groin) and Rob Gronkowski (forearm/back), who both appeared to be moving well.
Running back Leon Washington (ankle), who missed Wednesday's practice, was not spotted during the media availability portion of the workout. Rookie linebacker Jamie Collins was also missing.
Michael Buchanan missed Wednesday's workout for non-injury related reasons but was back on Thursday.
Armond Armstead and Shane Vereen were spotted out on the lower field in t-shirts and shorts while their teammates practiced. Armstead can come off the reserve/NFI list and begin practicing next week. Vereen, on short-term injured reserve with a wrist injury, may return no sooner than Week 10.
