CINCINNATI -- Tommy Kelly, who left the game with a left leg injury late in the fourth quarter, declared, “I’ll be all right,” in the locker room after the Patriots 13-6 loss to Cincinnati.

Kelly, who’s been outstanding for the Patriots along the defensive line this season, left the locker room and headed toward the team buses without a noticeable limp.

Kelly injured his knee on a second-and-8 scramble by Andy Dalton early in the fourth quarter. He returned to the field six plays later with the Bengals inside the Patriots 5. Cincinnati ultimately scored what proved to be the game-winner on a fourth-and-goal from the 1. Kelly had his leg retaped while he was out.

With Vince Wilfork lost for the season, the Patriots defensive tackle rotation is very shallow and losing Kelly would have been a difficult blow.

Kelly said he’d talk more expansively on Monday.
