The Patriots keep losing players to injury, but the next man up always seems to be ready. That was again the case on Saturday, when linebacker Jamie Collins stepped up in a big way.

Collins finished the game with six tackles, a sack, multiple tackles for losses, and an interception in the 4th quarter.

It was a bit of a surprise to the guys on Sports Sunday, including NFL Network's Albert Breer.

"Sure. It's a playoff atmosphere, you're in a playoff there in a second round. Rookie who comes from Southern Miss. Yeah, I was surprised to see him play that well especially with a lot of pressure on him," Breer said. "Spikes is out of the lineup obviously. A lot of eyes are going to be on guys like Collins and Fletcher to step up. Certainly, good job by the coaches too, finding ways to get him in position to do things he does well, and obviously he delivered."

The Patriots will definitely need Collins to be at his best this Sunday with a tight end like Julius Thomas ready to go.
