It seems with every game the New England Patriots suffer more and more injuries to their defense.

With the injuries on the defensive side of the ball mounting up, the Patriots will call upon the players who are left, and players who they have recently signed, to step up to fill the void.

“You’ve got to try to get the new players up to speed the best you can and you might have to condense a little bit of what you’re doing or change it a little bit,” said Bill Belichick. “I don’t think we want to go in here and try to put in a new playbook because a couple people got injured. It’s hard, you don’t want to lose anybody, but that’s reality. It’s not the first time anybody has gotten hurt.”

Mike Giardi and Tom E. Curran discuss what needs to happen for the Patriots defense to fight off these injuries and continue to produce.

“Chandler Jones is going to have to play at an all-pro level quite plainly for this defense to be able to be a game-changing group,” Curran said. “If he can do that, then he might be able to cover up for some of the guys behind him.”
