Just like the Patriots offense, Rob Gronkowski was back to his elite form Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In his third game back from injury, Gronkowski had his best performance with a career-high nine catches for 143 yards and a touchdown.

Michael Holley, Troy Brown, and Mike Flynn discussed Gronkowski’s role in the Patriots offensive resurgence.

“I don’t know if it is quite the Gronk we saw last year at this point in season,” Brown said. “But, he is definitely back to a place where he is comfortable being on the football field. He is making a lot of plays for this team. And the most important thing, Tom Brady is comfortable throwing the football to him.”

With Gronkowski’s return, he helps to give the offense an added dimension that they didn’t have when he was on the sideline.

“I think he looked strong coming off the line of scrimmage, explosive, confidence catching the football,” Flynn said. “The targets and the catches are starting to add up. There is a connection there. Obviously, in third-down and red zones, since he’s been back, the red zone has changed and now third downs here. I think he’s back. It still will be progress here, getting his leg underneath him. The Gronkowski you saw today was more of the one we are expecting.”
