With the addition of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and yes, even Jason Terry from the Celtics, the Nets have a lineup that appears to be primed to make a push at Miami in the Eastern Conference.
Success is not always the immediate result in the NBA, however, and the guys on UNO Sports Tonight debated whether or not this deal will work out for the Nets.
"The Eastern Conference is tough," Kirk Minihane said. "You have the two-time champions, and you forget about the Bulls coming back with Derrick Rose, you have the Pacers. The East is tough. They have a chance.
"There's a lot of balls to juggle for (Nets coach Jason) Kidd. Then you got two guys in Garnett and Pierce you got healthy last year. Is that gonna happen again this season? That's tough."
Steve Buckley believes the biggest aspect is the health of Garnett and Pierce, which he says is far from a given.
"Both of these guys are at an age where their good health is not something you can just rubber stamp," Buckley said. "We've seen it before from Garnett. They're at that age now where who's to say we won't see it again."
