It didn't look pretty for the Celtics out of the gate.
The Heat came out strong, and the Celtics couldn't buy a basket.
After the first quarter, it was 29-15 Miami, and it looked like it was going to be a long night in Miami.
But then the Celtics woke up. They clawed their way back into the game over the last three quarters, and it came down to the wire in the end. Brad Stevens liked what he saw for the majority of the game.
"First of all I thought the first six minutes of the game I thought we were trying to figure out if we could be successful tonight or not," Stevens said. "I thought we were playing way too tentative and we weren't playing with a sense of urgency you need to to have a chance. And the last 42 minutes we just fought. We fought about as hard as they could fight I thought."
Brandon Bass finished with 15 points, Jeff Green had 12 points, and Chris Johnson had 11 points. None of it would be enough though, as the C's fell, 93-86.
It wasn't due to lack of effort though.
