Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry may return to Boston before the regular season begins.
The Celtics will host the Brooklyn Nets at TD Garden on October 23 for a 7:30 p.m. preseason matchup in what could be Pierce's, Garnett's and Terry's return to Boston since being traded to Brooklyn earlier this month.
Because it is preseason, there is a chance they do not travel, but if they do, the game will be an emotional one for Pierce and Garnett, as they will return to Boston for the first time since being traded.
Pierce had been a Celtic all his life, and Garnett since 2007. They helped bring a 17th championship banner to Boston in 2008, while part of "The Big Three" that also included Ray Allen.
The Celtics did a massive overhaul this offseason. Pierce, Garnett and Terry were shipped off to Brooklyn for five players and three draft picks on July 12.
The Nets will host the Celtics at the Barclays Center on October 15 at 7:30 p.m.
