The New York Knicks just won't get the hint.
They clearly don't have anything worth trading, but yet they think they can get the Celtics All-Star point guard in a trade somehow.
Um, guys? Keep dreaming.
Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely joined Mike Felger on CSNNE's Sports Sunday where he made it clear that the Knicks are not getting Rondo.
"This is typical New York Knicks mentality that because they're the big bad New York knocks they can get anything and everything they want," Blakely said. "We got through this every single year where they're talking about this guy wants to go to New York, or New York can get this guy. Not going to happen. If he's going to be traded it is not going to be to the New York Knicks because they have literally nothing that the Celtics want."
And the rest of the NBA may be out of luck when it comes to trading for Rondo too. That is, unless they want to hand over a king's ransom for him. Blakely says that's what it's going to take.
"It's going to have to be a Brooklyn Nets-type of deal, one that is just too irresistible to pass up," Blakely said. "It's going to have to be better than that deal. It's going to have to include some type of young, talented up-and-coming player, probably is going to have to involve multiple first round picks, they're probably going to have to be unprotected, it has to be one of those deals that Danny Ainge looks at and says, 'There's no way I can turn this deal down.'"
