Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty will not meet with NHL Director of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan for his hit on Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk during Thursday night's game, according to CSNNE.com Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty.
The hit, which earned Pacioretty a 2-minute boarding penalty, sent Boychuk off the ice on a stretcher, and to a nearby hospital.
Fortunately, Boychuk's lower back injury wasn't as serious as initially feared. He made the trip back with the Bruins that night.
After the game, Pacioretty expressed concern for Boychuk.
“I obviously feel terrible," he said. "I’ve been in that situation before, and I had no intent to injure anybody. I thought I was just playing hard, I hope everything’s going to be all right for him.”
