* Pro Hockey Talk details a report from Darren Dreger that linesmen have been instructed to get in between combatants when the helmets come off during a hockey fight. We actually reported the NHL was mulling this over a month ago, so they’ve been kicking it around since the beginning of the season. I hope the refs are getting hazard pay for the stray punches they’re going to catch stepping into the middle of hockey fights.
 
* Daniel Alfredsson told the Detroit hockey media that he’s anticipating a very emotional game against his former team, the Ottawa Senators.
