* Team USA general manager David Poile says he has “no regrets” about the roster at the Olympics that didn’t win a medal. In my experience, people that say they have no regrets are either fools, or not telling the truth. I don’t think Poile is a fool by a long shot.

* Mike Zeisberger of the Toronto Sun mentions the curse of the “Sochi Injury Bug” and what those teams will do prior to the trade deadline.

* Ryan Dadoun has Latvian goalie Kristers Gudlevskis sticking with the Tampa Bay Lightning after his amazing performance against the Canadians in the Olympic tournament.

* It sounds as if Ryan Miller is off the trade market, and the Sabres want to re-sign him instead.

* Boomer Esiason is hearing that Ryan Callahan is going to be traded straight-up for Marty St. Louis. Seriously. Boomer is a huge hockey fan, and he’s tapped in on the New York Rangers.

* For something completely different: An account of a violent triple murder in Waltham that is connected to the marathon bomber, and the clues that perhaps police missed in that investigation.
