Brad Marchand was shut out in the first series against the Maple Leafs, but it didn't take long for him to get going in this series.
Marchand scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Bruins topped the Rangers in Game 1, 3-2. After the game, he spoke with NBC's Pierre McGuire about the B's mindset during the game.
"We just knew that it didn't matter the situation as long as we stay focused we can come back," Marchand said. "We were down early there in the third period and we found a way."
Marchand didn't let his lack of goal scoring get the best of him, and had a little pep talk before the game by a former Bruin.
"It's always frustrating when you don't capitalize on your opportunities but I got a nice text from [Mark] Recchi tonight telling me to keep with it, and it worked out," he said.
Game 1 was a physical one, and Marchand expects that to be the case going forward.
"Yeah I think so. They play very hard, very physical. We play the same way, so we;re definitely going to clash here and [it'll be] a long, hard series."
