Haggerty's Morning Skate: Kings lock out Sutter

Share

Here’s our daily look at all of the links around the hockey world, and the things that I’m currently reading.

*Larry Brooks has some juicy details from the Los Angeles Kings dressing room where they apparently locked Darryl Sutter out of the dressing room, and then barricaded the door with heavy trash barrels. That is dedication to not wanting to hear your coach’s voice.

*The Rangers make all kinds of history this season, and for that they get Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round.

*PHT writer and FOH (Friend of Haggs) Mike Halford has the Toronto Maple Leafs cleaning house, and firing Peter Horachek and Dave Nonis. I don’t see the Bruins doing anything that rashly given that both Claude Julien and Peter Chiarelli are already scheduled to speak on Monday afternoon at TD Garden.

*Brandon Sutter stepped up and provided some scoring punch for the Penguins when they needed it in Buffalo on Saturday night.

*Jordan Eberle is happy to play for Team Canada in the world championships, but he doesn’t want to make a habit of being available for those tournaments.

*Here’s a few quick preview looks at the playoff matchups set to kick off next week. It should be some great hockey.

*For something completely different: Rolling Stone plays a game of Game of Thrones characters and their Washington DC counterparts.
