BOSTON -- After missing the last two games because of lower back stiffness, Shane Victorino is back in the Red Sox' lineup for Game 6.

To keep the lineup the same as it was for both Games 4 and 5, both Red Sox wins, Victorino was hitting sixth in the lineup instead of his customary second spot.

"We wanted to keep the top of the order (Jacoby Ellsbury leadoff, Dustin Pedroia second, David Ortiz third) consistent with what we showed the other night,'' said John Farrell. "But Vic is healthy, no restrictions . . . Glad he's back in right field for us.''

Farrell emphasized that he wasn't trying to limit Victorino's at-bats because of any difficulties he may have swinging the bat.

"This isn't a volume-related thing,'' said Farrell. "I think this is just more on how we stack up throughout our lineup. We're trying to lengthen it out behind David, as I mentioned the other day, and this is somewhat reflective of that.

"In talking with Vic [on Tuesday] and [telling him my] thoughts, he's completely comfortable with it.''
