CSNNE baseball analyst Lou Merloni says the one advantage the Cardinals have over the Red Sox in the World Series is the depth of their bullpen.

"[Cardinals anager Mike] Matheny has six guys he can go to out there," Merloni said on "SportsNet Central" before Game 1. "John Farrell has three guys, [Craig] Breslow, [Junichi] Tazawa and [Koji] Uehara, maybe [Bradon] Workman."

And and advantage for the Sox?

"More elite defenders at more positions," Merloni said. He likes the Red Sox's defense over St. Louis'

And Merloni's Series pick?

"Red Sox in seven."
