Will Cherington be allowed to pick the next Sox manager?

Steve Buckley of the Boston Herald and Chris Gasper of the Boston Globe joined "Sports Sunday" to answer if Red Sox GM Ben Cherington will get to pick the manager this time around.

Buckley says he's kind of on the fence on this one.

"Ben gets to present his choice to Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino," Buckley said. "This time, Ben gets to pick the guy and Larry rubber stamps it."

Buckley argues that last year, Lucchino made the pick in Bobby Valentine and had Red Sox principal owner John Henry rubber stamp it.

Gasper agrees that Cherington should have more input this time around.

"I would hope they defer to the baseball operations people," Gasper said. "It seems like last year they rammed Bobby Valentine down the throat of Ben Cherington and the baseball operations people."
