What should Sox do with Ellsbury?

One of the more intriguing story lines for the Red Sox this offseason is what they do with Jacoby Ellsbury.

He's set to become a free agent at the end of the 2013 season, and unless he has another injury-stricken season, should make a hefty amount of money.

The Sox don't seem like they're in the market to re-sign him -- at least not at the moment.

Lou Merloni and Bob Neumeier take their first caller of the night, who wants answers on the Ellsbury situation.

Here's a small part of what Merloni said:

"When it comes to Jacoby Ellsbury, I think the Red Sox play this thing out next year. I don't see them signing him really. I mean, if he plays to the level that he played at two years ago, he's going to be looking at Scott Boras for a 750 million dollar deal."

It's tough to gauge what he's worth on the trade market because of the up-and-down nature of his career, but Merloni says the Sox should at least test the market.

"I think that they investigate, kind of throw this name out there and see what they can get back for Jacoby Ellsbury, I'm not so sure they're going to like what they hear, and I think they're going to hold onto him. But if somebody blows you away for a young arm, you do it."

Report: Rumored Celtic target Andrew Bogut to sign with Cavs

The Dallas Mavericks traded Andrew Bogut to the Philadelphia 76ers at the deadline for big man Nerlens Noel. Bogut, 32, was never expected to stay in Philly and he should be bought out soon.

There has been some speculation about what contender Bogut might be looking to join, or which might come calling. Due to CBA rules, Bogut could feasibly re-join the Golden State Warriors. Instead, it appears Bogut -- at one point rumored to be a Celtics target is expected to head the other direction and sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
