NEW YORK - Reporting from outside Manhattan federal court, the site of the showdown between the Tom Brady and the NFL on the Deflategate case:
Judge Richard Berman assailed the Wells Report, and most important, questioned whether the NFL had was any direct evidence Brady being "generally aware" of what the league has called a scheme to deflate footballs after their approval by officials in the AFC Championship Game in January.
The big takeaway? Can the NFL prove that Tom Brady knew of, or directed, the deflation of the footballs.
