Two Wild Cards better than one for Red Sox?

It's encouraging to think that as bad as the Red Sox were in the first half, they're still only two games back of a Wild Card spot.

The Red Sox just got Jacoby Ellsbury back, are expected to get Carl Crawford back next week and have four players (Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, Adrian Gonzalez, Dustin Pedroia) who are all expected to perform far better than they did in the first half.

The Red Sox certainly have the talent to claim a playoff spot. But since when do they do what we expect them to?
