Tulane bounces back to beat UMass 31-24 behind Encalade

AMHERST, Mass. - Terren Encalade caught seven passes for 125 yards and a touchdown, and Tulane put together a 24-0 run to come back and beat Massachusetts 31-24 on Saturday night.

Trailing 14-0 after back-to-back 12-yard touchdown passes by UMass' Andrew Ford to Andy Isabella, the Green Wave's Dontrell Hilliard scored on an 11-yard run to cut the deficit to a TD.

Andrew DiRocco made a 22-yard field goal to make it 14-10, and Tulane (3-2) took the lead for good when Glen Cuiellette threw a 36-yard TD to Encalade.

Isabella caught six passes for 94 yards for UMass (1-4) while Hilliard had 22 carries for 99 yards for Tulane. The Green Wave outgained UMass in total yardage 448-312.

It was the first-ever meeting between the two schools. UMass has played its last four games at home.
