Press conference prep? Hayward makes the rounds in Boston

Share

Just days after his recruiting visit to Boston, new Celtics free agent acquisition Gordon Hayward was back in town Thursday and appeared to be getting ready for his introductory press conference.

Hayward agreed to join the Celtics on a four-year, $128 million deal on Tuesday. He had visited the Hub on Sunday and was spotted around the city on social media Thursday.

Hayward got a haircut and beard trim at Boston Barber & Tattoo Co.’s location in the North End.

Then it was on to Jos. A Bank clothing store in Boston to be fitted for a new suit to likely wear when he meets the Boston media.

Finally, eating Italian at dinner at L'Osteria in the North End with Celtics coach (and Hayward's former college coach at Butler) Brad Stevens.

Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald reported on Thursday that a Hayward presser was expected in the next two days. Perhaps a Saturday introduction?
