Paul Pierce’s crazy idea to improve NBA Slam Dunk Contest would be entertaining

The NBA's Slam Dunk Contest isn't as exciting as it used to be.

There are a few reasons why the most-anticipated event of NBA All-Star Weekend has lost a bit of its flair. The creativity of the dunks sometimes is lacking, the addition of props was a poor idea, and the league's best players rarely participate.

The event still has moments of brilliance, however, but there's always a search for ideas to improve the overall experience.

One man with a plan is Boston Celtics legend and current ESPN NBA analyst Paul Pierce, who presented his idea directly to league commissioner Adam Silver before Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals last week. Check out Pierce' pitch in the video below (around the 2:45 mark).

If you're unable to watch the video, Pierce's idea focuses on three YouTube dunkers competing against three NBA dunkers and the winner gets a really nice car. The car would be at halfcourt during the event.

It's not a horrible idea from "The Truth", but it doesn't really sound feasible.
