Jonny Gomes, 2013 Red Sox show Mike Napoli love after retirement

Mike Napoli only spent three seasons with the Boston Red Sox, but he certainly made his mark.

Almost immediately after Napoli announced his retirement from baseball Saturday on social media, several of his teammates from Boston's 2013 World Series championship squad chimed in to thank the slugger for the memories.

"My Main Main Man, My Ace In The Hole, My Brother.." ex-Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes wrote on Instagram. "Baseball brought us together and that 2013 ring will keep us together forever!! Congrats on a hell of a career!!!"

Gomes' tagged the post with some fitting photos of he and Napoli dumping champagne on each other after the Red Sox's playoff victories.

Also chiming in former catcher David Ross and pitcher Ryan Dempster, who appeared to think similarly of their ex-teammate.

Napoli racked up seven RBIs during the 2013 playoffs and delivered some clutch hits to help Boston's "bearded brothers" win it all.

Just as important, he knew how to celebrate those victories properly.
