Former Patriots tight end Jake Ballard has retired from the NFL. He released a statement on Wednesday explaining his decision.
After a few seasons that may have been as awkward as they were physically painful, it appears as though former Patriots tight end Jake Ballard has found a home.
The Patriots added tight end Matt Mulligan to their 53-man roster on Tuesday. The 6-4, 267-pound Mulligan played in 16 games for the Rams, starting nine and catching eight passes for 84 yards.
A day before the Patriots must pare down their roster to 53, New England has been busy cutting players from the squad.
