Home runs for $400? Red Sox president says “Jeopardy!” star could have future in MLB

According to Red Sox President Sam Kennedy, "Jeopardy!" whiz James Holzhauer could have a future in the MLB.

Not on the field, but in the front office.

Holzhauer, who has made a name for himself after winning an astonishing 22 consecutive “Jeopardy!” games and collecting over $1.6 million from the trivia game show, and has reportedly "always dreamed of working in the MLB," may be in luck.

Holzhauer has demonstrated that he's clearly proficient in stats, risk management, and has a very high degree of general knowledge. One would need these skills in order to rack up the winnings Holzhauer has on the trivia show.

Risk taking and statistics are also very important skills in managing a sports team, especially the game of baseball—and even more so in today's stat-obsessed world.

Holzhauer has been so successful at Jeopardy in large part due to his habit of "choosing the highest values on the board first and betting big on Daily Doubles."

Red Sox president Sam Kennedy chimed in on Holzhauer's MLB prospects: “Absolutely, yes...we put a huge premium on analytical abilities both on the baseball side and business side. Without question, when we interview young professionals coming out of college, that skill set is hugely important.”

The Oakland Athletics are reportedly also interested in Holzhauer's talents.

In the meantime, Holzhauer will look to extend his "Jeopardy!" streak on May 20th.
